Class Descriptions:

Circus Littles (Ages 5-7) – Beginner

Build body awareness, coordination, and balance with our new circus littles class! Tailored specifically to the developmental stages of children aged 5-7, we will use a mix of ground acro and aerial apparatuses to support students in building their spatial awareness and muscle control through fun circus activities! We keep our coach-to-student ratios at 1:6 for this class to make sure everyone gets the support they need.

Teen Silks (Ages 12-15) – Beginner/Intermediate

A class for teens with little to no circus experience! Focusing on building strong foundations and safe progressions this class teaches aerial silks basics as well as progressions towards more intermediate skills like drops. Great for students with no experience or less than two years of aerial training. Students will be supported and challenged appropriately to their level, through advanced students are encouraged to take an intermediate/advanced class to be more appropriately challenged.

Performance Troupe –  Experience required*

For experienced circus students who have the drive and dedication to take their skills to the next level, our performance troupe meets twice weekly and focuses on building well-rounded, strong athletes and artists. This hour-and-a-half class will hone the technique of the students while establishing a rock-solid foundation of aerial and ground skills so that students have the option to follow their circus journeys wherever they’d like to go with them. Troupe students will have the opportunity to represent Rainbow Circus as performers at community events and special showcases throughout the year.

Troupe students must attend the Monday 4-5:30 performance class as well as at least one other advanced-level class per week.

*Coach assessment is required. A yearlong commitment is preferred.

Teen mixed apparatus (Ages 14-18) – Open level

A mixed class with both aerial silks and aerial hoop instruction. Kids’ Circus (Ages 7-9) -Open level

Like the jungle gym, but with mats! If you have a little climber at home, save your wall and send them to the circus. Our coaches use a variety of games and teaching methods to help young learners develop their strength, balance, and coordination, all while learning circus skills in a safe and inclusive environment. For kids aged 7-10 years old, no experience is required! We keep our coach-to-student ratios at 1:6 for this class to make sure everyone gets the support they need.

Kids’ Circus (Ages 7-9) -Intermediate

For students who have done a year or more of circus with us and are looking for a fun way to continue to challenge themselves in circus learning. Our coaches use a variety of games and teaching methods to help young learners develop their strength, balance, and coordination, all while learning circus skills in a safe and inclusive environment. We keep our coach-to-student ratios at 1:6 for this class to make sure everyone gets the support they need.

Youth Silks (Ages 10-13) – Beginner/Intermediate

Adult Hoop 18+:

Get circus strong! This 75-minute class starts with circus-specific conditioning, then lots of time on the aerial hoop, a solid steel ring that’s suspended mid-air. Hoops will be set at a variety of heights so that students can get in from ground level as needed (no pullups required). Offered in monthly sessions, these classes are kept small (generally 6 students), so that everyone can be challenged and supported appropriately. Suitable for those with no experience- intermediate level.

Adult Silks 18+:

Fun is for all ages! This 75-minute class starts with circus-specific conditioning, then lots of time on the aerial silks to explore new poses, balances, and tricks on the aerial silks. At the end of the session, we put together a mini routine by sequencing skills that we’ve learned throughout the month. Offered in monthly sessions, these classes are kept small (generally 6 students), so that everyone can be challenged and supported appropriately. Suitable for those with zero – intermediate experience levels on the silks.
